| About | About the Desert Golf Car Company. In 1971, Kirk Forsy the worked for Valley National Bank. They wanted to transfer him out of town. He did not want to relocate his young family and decided that he would try and find some other line of work. Kirks father-in-law was retired from the Post Office and was working for the dealer who sold Otis Golf Cars. Kirk decided that the golf car business looked promising. On April 1, 1971, Kirk opened his doors selling Flag master Golf Cars. You probably never heard of the mand Kirk Didnt sell too many. With per severance and luck, Kirk eventually sold Otis, Club Car, Western and a couple other lines that only the most knowledgeable golf car guys would remember. In 1978, Kirk was very fortunate to be the second company to be awarded a Yamaha Golf Car franchise. And he never looked back. Kirk retired in 2000, and handed the family business over to Roband Jon, the second generation Forsythes. However, you will often see him walking around to make sure that every customer is treated honestly, fairly and with respect. The third generation is currently training and waiting to take over the reins sometime around 2025. Yamaha builds the worlds finest golf car and neighborhood vehicles.
