He moved to San Diego, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego in 1996. After serving in the military, Dr. Cava decided to open his private practice in the Ocean Beach area, and eventually opened another location in Chula Vista, California, in 2008 as well as Tierrasanta in 2019. As a military Veteran himself, he is a strong supporter of our Armed Forces and it is in that spirit that in 2020 he opened DYMPHNA San Diego TMS providing Innovative Solutions for Veterans’ mental health needs.
